Welcome to the Family Promise HCR Blog! Each week, we’ll share news about what’s happening at the Day Center, and give an update, known as “As the Day Center Turns,” on how our families are doing!

Earlier this week one of our guests, who’s been here for a bit came to my door and said “Miss Sue the new girl wants to ask you something but she’s nervous about it. I told her she doesn’t need to be nervous around you all.”  That is high praise for us!  We want our guests to be comfortable coming to us with their questions, needs, challenges, and good news.

We have an open-door policy here at Family Promise HCR. Our families, guests, are welcome to knock on our door for important things or to just tell us a funny story! Sometimes they share great food like empanadas with us. The kids do have a rule that they need to knock on my door, since it’s right in the living area, before they enter. And if I say “not right now” they will need to wait a bit. But if I let my door open, they are right in there!

Welcome back to As the Day Center Turns!

We are back to 2 families this week as T has decided to leave the program. Please send positive thoughts and good vibes her way.

T and J, and their tweens are looking for housing! *insert party music here*J has already been promoted at his new job! *insert even LOUDER party music here* T has been working on her GED lessons while the tweens are in school.

K and her two little ones are doing great! She has decided to take a different employment route that will better suit her family’s schedule. Hopefully, she can start next week! K is very excited and happy that her youngest can tag along for the ride (literally!)

We have reached out to a potential family to add to the FPHCR Shelter Crew but as of right now, we have not heard back.

Until next week on As the Day Center Turns!!
