Our board is comprised of community leaders, faith leaders, and professionals with expertise in the legal field, social services, finance and accounting, leadership and management, healthcare, human resources, and more. Board members leverage their skills and networks to assist Family Promise in setting its strategic direction and developing new initiatives to serve more families, more effectively, every year.

Chris is a financial professional with experience helping individuals and families reach their financial goals. After over 11 years working in banking, Chris left to pursue a career as a financial professional at Thrivent in 2008.
He is now a Wealth Advisor and Director of Operations at Advent Partners. What drew Chris to Advent Partners was the ability to combine faith with financial planning so families can do the most good with the resources they have.

Sam Fugagli

Sam is General Counsel for Burnham Holdings, Inc. and is responsible for oversight of the company and its subsidiaries’ legal matters. Outside of her day job, Sam is committed to using her skills to serve and support her community.
Sam is also on the board of a local nonprofit, Tres Bonne Annee. In her free time, she enjoys breweries, baseball and traveling – often all three at the same time.

Brian Marchuck is a Principal with Brown Schultz Sheridan & Fritz in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. Brian primarily performs accounting and tax services for non-for-profit organizations and local governments. He maintains a bachelor’s degree from Millersville University in accounting and finance as well as being a member of American and Pennsylvanian Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Brian resides in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, with his wife, daughter, and two cats. In his free time, Brian enjoys football, field hockey, and the outdoors. His other community activities include volunteering with Habitat for Humanity.

Rossana Sandoe

Rossana works for Sellers Dorsey, a consulting firm in Harrisburg. Her role draws on her experience and knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, nursing facility operations, and quality improvement initiatives to provide guidance to clients and project teams, primarily supporting Medicaid Long Term Support Services. Rossana is a licensed PA Nursing Home Administrator and has previously worked in various leadership capacities in long term care providers focusing on creating a positive work environment and quality care to those in need of services.
Rossana holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Kutztown University and a Master of Science in Health Care Administration from the University of South Dakota. Rossana grew up in the Lebanon area and lives in Harrisburg with her husband, Eric, and Pitbull, Newman. She enjoys being outdoors. Some of her favorite things to do in her free time include traveling, hiking, and reading. Rossana is also an active volunteer with Castaway Critters. Rossana became a member of the Board of Family Promise Capital Region in 2021.

Marilyn Bellesfield currently works for Brethren Housing Association as the Director of Program Policy and Development. She oversees the development of BHA housing program policies and procedures, community outreach and collaboration efforts, and implementation of best practices for housing programs working with families experiencing homelessness. Her other responsibilities include implementing staff training and growth opportunities as well as monitoring program goals and data outcome measurements.
Marilyn has a B.A. in Family Studies from Messiah College and over 33 years of experience serving families experiencing homelessness in the Harrisburg area. She has been with BHA for the past 10 years and worked for Catholic Charities for 22 years prior to BHA. Marilyn, her husband Mark, and their three children live in Etters, PA.

Nate Cook is the Community Development Banker at Pennian Bank. He has a long tenure of working in the banking industry and enjoys helping individuals and businesses achieve their financial goals.
During his free time, Nate enjoys spending time with his lovely wife, Lauren, his son, Noah, and two daughters, Olivia and Elliyanah. He also enjoys grilling, yard games, bowling, golf, video games, movies, and sports. His family also has 1 cat named Sushi.
Nate and his wife, Lauren, have been actively helping Family Promise for several years. He is passionate about Family Promise’s purpose and vision.

Charles Kaufmann

Chuck is the Director of Worship and Administration at Charlton United Methodist Church in Harrisburg, PA. The focus of his ministry is to provide opportunities and administrative support for church members as they develop and use their skills and talents in the life and ministry of the church. He received his B.A. degrees in Music and Religion from Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA.
In addition to his church work, Chuck is a certified Spiritual Director with a passion for group direction and serves as the program administrator for the Ministry of Spiritual Direction training program with the Center for Spiritual Formation in Carlisle, PA.
Any of his free time is usually co-opted by his French bulldogs, Cooper and Thor.

Jean Keller-Thau

Jean was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania but spent most of her childhood and adult life in Baltimore, Maryland. For twenty-seven years she worked at Johns Hopkins Hospital in various positions, but for a number of years served as Assistant to the President and later as Coordinator for Patient Education and Support Services for transplant patients. After the death of her husband in 1999, she and her youngest daughter, Amanda, moved to Dillsburg, Pennsylvania to be near her parents.
In 2000, Jean served as Administrative Assistant to the General Secretary of the Brethren in Christ denomination. During this time, she felt God’s call to ministry and began attending seminary at Myerstown Evangelical School of Theology working toward a Masters of Divinity degree. She received her MDiv in 2012. In August 2004, Jean joined the Dillsburg Brethren in Christ ministry staff as Associate Pastor of Discipleship and Administration. She retired in August 2014.
Jean is the mother of four children—Cheryl, Rick, Jamey, and Amanda—and grandmother to six—Ellie, Jordan, Dylan, Bradley, Isabella, and Charlotte. Jean is serving in a variety of capacities to ensure that every child has a home.

Jason Schwartzman serves as the Pastor of Grace United Methodist Church in Lemoyne. He is married to Michelle and is a dad to Dante (19) and Jahnavi (11). Jason grew up in the Bronx, however; he is a huge New York Mets fan. The best way to describe Jason’s free time is “Disney World and the Mets”.
In addition to serving as the pastor of a local church, Jason has been the chairperson of the Susquehanna Conference Camp and Retreat Board and has served on the board of McCurdy Ministries in Espanola, New Mexico. During the 2011-2012 school year, Jason, Michelle, and Dante served as missionaries in Semmandakupaam, Tamil Nadu, India. Jason’s primary role was to teach English to students grades 4-10, a group of teachers, and a class for the village. In the evenings, Jason and Michelle were dorm parents to the students who lived on campus.
Jason regards his strengths as building community and a sense of belonging among people. He is passionate about inclusion and people finding their most authentic selves.

Laurie Karagiannis is a small business owner with her husband in Mechanicsburg, PA. She is a mom of 3.
Laurie has always had a passion for giving back to her community. She is grateful to have found a strong, organized, and caring group of volunteers and dedicated employees at Family Promise.
She is committed to bring whatever skills she can provide to help local families.

Rev Molly Haggerty

Currently, Molly serves as the Pastor and Administrator for St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Middletown and the TOGETHER: Change Through Community outreach ministries. As a life-long advocate for people with disabilities, she has worked in many aspects within the field including national speaker, court appointed advocate, Sibling Support conference creator and facilitator across the USA as well as direct care coordinator. As a second vocation, the fields of youth ministry, outdoor ministry, chaplaincy, congregational care, and justice ministries have been a focus for the last several decades.
Volunteer work consists of community art, mentoring of young adults and international students as well as creating spaces for people of all circumstances to gather, listen, and build community. Having served the church as a Deacon and then Pastor, Molly has a passion for using art to gather communities, accompaniment, and encouraging creativity in all people. As a volunteer and host for Family Promise through several churches, it is a privilege to serve on the Board of Family Promise to learn and grow with the staff and families experiencing the program and resources.
