This is our last special edition anniversary newsletter! Thank you for reading and celebrating along with us this year. It’s been a very special time for us to remember the first days when we banded together, the years since then that we’ve grown together, and our excitement and planning for the future ahead of us!
Our Families

Q: Where are you living now, and what are you up to?
A: I currently live in Harrisburg in a two-bedroom apartment. I am working on getting my son into school and being my best mom. I have continued on my mental health journey, and I have gotten tremendously better.
Q: What is your favorite memory from FP?
A: My favorite part about family promise was how much people cared about a human being that they knew nothing about. I also like the staff members. And I also loved how we can trust you guys with any problems. I like the structure of family promise, and they give people many chances before they can’t and it’s not because they want to give up. It’s because there were other opportunities for the family. My favorite memory of being at family promise was allowing myself to take a step back and allow other people to help me. I also love the support and love the staff and the volunteers have for the families right away when they arrive.
Q: What is something you learned at FP?
A: I’ve learned it doesn’t matter what road you go down you will always have the biggest supporters that want to see you thrive and want you to be successful.
Our History
Tom Bay and Sue Reinke served as co-volunteer leaders at Colonial Park UCC when we first opened our doors back in 2010.
Listen to their video as they share how it impacted them and their church!
Our Stats
Over the past 15 years, we have served 166 families. 166 families have slept overnight in our congregations. 166 families have eaten meals with our volunteers. 166 families have found hope in the walls of our program.
This is what it’s always been about – our families. Thank you for being a part of it!

Our Why
“We are thankful to have been involved with Family Promise since the beginning in our area. What a joy it is to see how the program has changed and grown to serve the families more effectively with each passing year. Our hearts are touched by the interactions with the individuals, and it is so rewarding to hear the stories as the families successfully graduate from the program.”
